Psalm 62:7 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.Psalm 116:7 Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

There is something special about being in the place of ‘Rest’ in God. it is a huge thing, one which we shall explore in days a ahead.

Psalm 62:7
On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

The psalmist speaks here of his total serenity and rest in God. He can rest because his salvation – God bringing him back from the life and consequence his sins deserve for him – and his glory rest on God. His glory?

This glory is something else we know little about, but it has to do with who God makes us to be as we walk in His ways. He commands His blessing on us, pours grace and favour on our experience and literally presences Himself with us.

Yet sometimes when we are tired from the fight, or we have slipped and fallen, we feel far from Him and equally far from rest.

Psalm 116:7
Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

This is when we need to return to our rest. There isn’t a circumstance or situation that God isn’t bigger than, nothing that He doesn’t know and nothing that defeats the work of the Cross.

So if you’ve wondered far, return to your rest and be at peace both with Him and with yourself. Where you can’t be at peace with others through their choice, do what you can and leave it at that. Bless them, whether they deserve it or not!

Prayer.

Lord, help guide me back to the place of rest in You. And when I’m in the place of rest, help me to make it my dwelling place – it’s all because of your work on the Cross and what You do every day.

I love You Lord. Help me live like I mean it!!

Amen.
