Psalm 46:4 ‘There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The Holy dwelling places of the most high

Churches and people can be many things. Some good, some bad. I’ve been both, the church has been both and yet God remains consistently the same.

My hearts cry is that we have more of God, and that as our experience of and relationship with Him deepens then so does our authenticity. We want to be the same in private as we are in public, and the same in public as we are in private.

When we think of this verse in Psalm 46, the thought is of ‘dwelling places’ (plural) of God and streams making up a river. Usually streams combine to make a river, and occasionally rivers divide out into smaller flows. I know that when God flows into me in an ever increasing way, that contributes to the river of God. It adds to the Kingdom as a whole.

And it makes the city of God glad. This means that it impacts the church as a whole, and we know that when brethren dwell together in unity, god commands a blessing. I think that if the church is glad, then so to is God. And I really want to make Him glad!!

Prayer.

So today Lord, please help me to draw a little closer to you. Closer in desire, discipline, worship, prayer, service, sacrifice and giving. Let the result of this make the church glad, which will also make you glad! And let people see You through me, and be drawn to You. Give me opportunities to bless and encourage people today.

In Jesus lovely name, Amen.
